Born in the deep south amidst the chaos of the civil rights movement, the former Martin Jones was named after his father's idol - Martin Luther King, Jr. Himself a Baptist minister, Thorn's father was a strict but loving man. Childhood was occasional fraught with danger or the threat of it and Thorn was a small and shy boy. That changed by the time he was entering high school. He grew all at once and with the physical growth came emotional and mental growth. More confident, more collected, more sure of himself. Thorn wanted to be a doctor and he wanted to leave the south for a time. Up north he went to medical school. A safer place, he thought. Somewhere he could escape to. But that's where it all went wrong.
Martin ended up pressganged into the crew of the Captain, an ocean-going Gentry. Formed into a monster of an Ogre, he was put to work in one of the raiding parties of his new master. It was Martin that led the charge in battle, hurling himself onto dry land to attack the enemies of his Keeper. His body turned into a weapon rather than his mind turned toward healing, his new life was one of violence and pain. But nothing lasts forever. Horribly wounded in a skirmish, Martin was cast overboard, useless and obsolete. The waves didn't take him, however, and neither did another of the alien Gentry. He managed to make it to shore, to find away out of that hell and back into a real world that he hardly recognized. That was almost twenty years ago.
Martin became Omar, leaving his old life behind. He joined the Summer Court and sought to turn his hatred and anger at what he had become against his oppressors - the Fae. Eager to fight for the freedom he had, he joined a freehold in Massachusetts. Along the way he joined the Legion of the Iron Wall. He served in and led a militia. He fought, he served, he did his duty. The last few years have been spent roaming. Arriving in new Lost strongholds to help them with their military needs. Next stop - Fallcoast.
