Body Thief Societies
Society of Infinite NobilityThe Society of Infinite Nobility has existed for centuries, passing down the mystical secrets of how to switch from body to body, supporting its members. Once upon a time, you absolutely had to have aristocratic blood in your veins to even be considered. Wealth was a bonus, but hardly an acquirement, the society was aware that wealth was something that could always be rebuilt, and in fact often helped provide its members with the tools to do just that. In more recent times, though, they have changed somewhat in this, and now accept the wealthy elite of North America and other parts of the world, if their family pedigree is good enough and goes back for enough generations... the nouveau riche need not apply... It's something like a rather sinister Mayflower Club. Benefits

Society of the Golden HazeRelatively young as societies go, only from the 19th century and not a millenia-spanning organization, the Most Excellent Order Of The Golden Haze is a relic of the spiritualist movement in Europe during the 19th century, appropriating mystic traditions from Asia, Africa and elsewhere into an occult amalgam intent on creating a transcendental experience. This allowed them to leave their bodies behind, and it worked. The details of this ritual are such that the transference creates a heady ecstatic trance in the victim, while creating a disorienting effect in the body thief. Its members tend to be mystics, psychics, shamans and oddball yoga enthusiasts, who create networks of followers with whom they can exchange consciousness in what amounts to a religious experience.
