“Well-behaved women seldom make history.”
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx– Laurel Thatcher Ulrich

History

xxxxxNearing its centennial anniversary, Zeta Pi has had a rocky history over the years at institutions across the country. The sisterhood has always attracted progressive women who skirt the edges of propriety from time to time, but know how to present a respectable image to the rest of the world. The local St. John's University chapter suffered a blow in 2010 when there was a near-fatal accident at a party that got more than a little out of hand. After a lengthy suspension, Zeta Pi was finally permitted to return to campus, but the group's membership has struggled to regain their footing. National leadership has strongly encouraged local alumnae and graduate students to help recruit more members and revitalize the chapter to its former glory.
