From Fallcoast

“To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funnybone.”

– Reba McEntire

xxxxxBernard Lowell is many things. To mortal eyes, he is the sole remaining scion of the once rich and influential Lowell industrial family. He is unassuming in appearance, with a seeming lack of concern for the dignity and trappings that might be expected of one with so much money. He's more than a little weird, but he's also quite generous. He lives on one of the islands in the harbor, but also runs an antiques shop in town that has haphazard and infrequent hours of operation. Every holiday he donates many handmade toys to charitable foundations in and around Fallcoast. All in all, he is one of those eccentric people who have more money than sense. But at the same time, he's doing some good with it and isn't hurting anyone.

xxxxxTo the Lost, Bernard is another animal entirely. A member of the Autumn court, he is fascinated by the ways that technology and the magic of the fae world might be combined to synthesize an entirely new arena of discovery (he calls it Wyrdtech, and no one may disabuse him of the notion that this is a cool name for it). He is a member of the Honorable Order of the Third Hour, and so bears the official title of Knight. He will occasionally give in to the urge to give people a scare for quick glamour, although he is less fear-inclined than many of his court. He has a small hollow in one of the islands off the coast of Fallcoast, and the strange sounds and lights can be heard and seen at all hours.

RP Hooks
  • Living in the land of the Lost - Bernard is one of the Lost. He is fascinated by Wyrdtech, the Hedge and hedgespinning. Surprisingly amiable for one of the court of Fear, he is easily approached when it comes to looking for help on projects.
  • Industrialist - Well, he's not technically one, but he is heir to a rather disgusting amount of money. The fact that he spends it in rather eccentric fashion (see 'buying Witchwood Island') gives him both supporters and detractors. Are you in business with him, or would you like to be?
  • Folk-nerd - Bernard is charmed, nay, enchanted with geeky pop culture. Specifically, he loves filk, fantasy and cosplay. Though he has yet to make much of a presence in local 'Ren scene', it's an abiding interest. Maybe there's a steampunk ball in town that needs an attendee!

Carbon Leaf - Lake of Silver Bells

Float from the balcony, we ride the pinetop swells.
Down from the old hotel on the lake of silver bells.
And leading is lonely when you make alone decisions.
Leading is lonely when you're dancing through derisions.
